meet Rusty Wetherspoon

Rusty is currently a Business Agent for Teamster Local 773, with 31 years as a Teamster member, working for General mills (formerly Pillsbury & Pet Inc.) for 29 years. He had worked in the Maintenance Department as a production mechanic and is a certified welder, blue print reader and is familiar with production machines and commercial electrical work.
He has been a steward for 27 years, where he has represented Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Shipping and Receiving department members, and many others. Rusty has been helping stewards, business agents and union brothers and sisters for the past 30 years in every way he could, filing and handling grievances, arbitrations, unemployment hearings, labor board charges and negotiating contracts.
Rusty has successfully completed classes in labor law and organizing, offered by the Union Leadership Academy, and is well versed in unemployment compensation, workman’s compensation, family medical leave act, sexual harassment, and labor relations. He has what it takes to get the job done.
MY PLEDGE to you for RE-ELECTING me as a Business Agent is to continue to work with this administration and YOU to keep the strength and unity in this Teamster Local 773. I will continue to work and fight hard for you. I will continue to negotiate strong contracts for you, and most importantly I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR YOU.
