On December 9, 2009, employees working at the Borough of Macungie voted overwhelmingly to accept a first-time three (3) year agreement bringing Local 773’s membership to nearly 4,300. These new members are employed in the Public Works Department as well as the Office Clerical Department. Seeing a need to secure what they had, the employees approached Local 773 for representation early in 2009. An election was held on February 24, 2009 where the employees voted strongly in favor of the Teamsters. These new members wasted no time in getting active. Continue reading »
